Woodcarving Kanji Signs | How to Make a Wooden Carved Sign with Kanji Characters
This is the process of creating a wooden carved sign with Kanji characters. It will stand beside an ancient stone statue of Jizo Bosatsu(Jizo Bosatsu is a Buddhist deity) in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The meaning of these characters is Jizo Bosatsu who wards off illness.

About 2 to 3 days☺️
What would be a better video is showing everyone how long it takes to sharpen and hone the blades/chisels for all the cuts... Look how easy the knife edge penetrates the fibers... now how many of those cuts can one get on a piece of Oak before the blade needs a new bevel? My guess... there is an apprentice somewhere who is constantly replacing and sharpening the chisels in between takes, or the 45 min not shown are done by the artist.
Glad to see scrape, blow, scrape is still the go to 1000 years later. Nobody is blow scrape blow. There is nothing to blow. It's always scrape first.
